A general pic of the installed grid. Because the property to the left of the drive is pie shape, the spacing of the lights is 1 foot at the road, and 2 feet at the far end. Each string of lights is controlled individually, in other words, 1 channel controls each string. This allows us to scroll the grid from left to right, or fan out from the middle, etc. |

Another view of the grid shows how straight the strings are. We lay a rope in a straight line, using it as a template to install the lights. Notice how the strings look perfectly spaced at the top an bottom. This is an illusion, as the spacing near the road is 1 foot, while at the top end is 2 feet. Ever looked at railway tracks and noticed how they seem narrow in the distance........? |

Ah yes, control of the grid. Of course, commands come from the computer to this channel box. For more info on this box, check out "channel boxes". It is supplied by (4) individual 15 amp/120V circuits and has a total of 24 channels (4 spare). It switches over 5000 watts of power to control the grid. |
